If you're considering booking a comprehensive diagnostic assessment, the initial step involves scheduling a pre-assessment session with us. During this 50-minute appointment, we will explore your reasons for seeking an assessment and ascertain whether proceeding with a full assessment is the most suitable next step. As we gather preliminary screening information during this session, should you decide to proceed with the complete ADHD assessment, the cost of this screening session will be subtracted from the total assessment fee.
Please note, there is absolutely no pressure or obligation to commit to a full diagnostic assessment with us when attending this session. Our primary aim is to collaboratively determine the best course of action tailored to your individual needs and wishes.
Booking this session is easy. Simply click the button located at the bottom of this page to access our booking system and select a suitable date.

Once you are sure a full diagnostic assessment is right for you, you can book through our website. If you have attended the pre-assessment session, make sure you use use the discount code provided by your therapist at the screening appointment (which will deduct the cost of that appointment from the overall assessment fee).
Upon booking, you will receive a link to complete a set of online questionnaires. These questionnaires can be easily filled out on your mobile, tablet, or computer before your assessment day. They cover a range of topics, including your mental and physical health, as well as your overall well-being and functioning.
If available, we encourage you to provide any historical school reports or previous mental health reviews that you may possess. These documents can be valuable in gaining a deeper understanding of your unique situation.
Additionally, if possible, we extend an invitation for you to designate someone who knows you well to offer their insights. This can be done either through a brief Zoom call with Dr. Holly Milling or by having them complete online questionnaires.
These steps play a crucial role in providing us with the necessary information to conduct a thorough assessment. It's important to note that without these components, it may be challenging for us to confirm an ADHD diagnosis. If you anticipate encountering any difficulties with any aspect of this process, please don't hesitate to get in touch with us for further assistance and discussion.

We have found that people much prefer to complete their assessment and get feedback with a decision all on the same day. Here’s how we manage the process:
Assessment zoom call (2 hours): We meet online for your full ADHD assessment. This typically takes around two hours and there will be opportunities to take breaks if you need them. Within this meeting, we’ll complete a review of your family and developmental history with a special focus on the ADHD components. We may also touch upon other relevant topics and questions to ensure a comprehensive evaluation.
After concluding the assessment session, I will take a 30 minutes to thoroughly analyse all the gathered information. This allows me to determine whether there is sufficient evidence to support a formal diagnosis. Regardless of the diagnosis outcome, I will compile a personalised list of recommendations tailored to your specific needs and wishes.
Feedback Session (30 minutes): We wrap up the day with a final Zoom call, which typically lasts 30 minutes. During this session, I will share my assessment findings and discuss the outcome with you. This is also an opportunity for us to explore the best path forward, based on your needs and wishes.
The most suitable way forward can vary widely from person to person, and I typically find that a holistic approach yields the most benefits. For some individuals, this may involve further appointments with me to delve deeper into understanding ADHD and strategies for thriving with it. Others may choose to explore medication options, while some may prefer psycho-social approaches like therapy and coaching. Your individual needs and wishes are our priority; we're here to support you in making informed decisions that align with your needs and aspirations.

Following your diagnostic assessment (typically within three weeks), you will receive two reports:
The first is a concise summary (TL;DR) that outlines the diagnosis (if applicable) and essential recommendations, suitable for sharing with employers or educational institutions.
The second report provides a comprehensive record of the assessment, along with our summary and recommendations for your future steps.
You'll have a two-week window to review the reports, and if any revisions are needed, please don't hesitate to inform us, and we'll make the necessary adjustments. Once the reports are finalised, you'll be ready to take your next steps.
Our aim is for our assessments to provide you with a thorough and empathetic understanding of your challenges and strengths, while also presenting a clear path forward.
Should you have any queries, we encourage you to consult our Frequently Asked Questions section below. If you find that your question isn't addressed there, please get in touch, and we’ll be happy to help you.

Frequently asked questions
-
We understand that booking an assessment can be a significant decision, and it's common for individuals to feel unsure about whether a full diagnostic assessment would be helpful. We offer the option of an initial consultation, which typically spans up to 50 minutes. During this session, we provide a space to address your queries, conduct an initial ADHD screening, and explore the potential benefit of a comprehensive assessment at this point.
It's important to note that this initial consultation serves as an indicator of whether an assessment may be beneficial at this time; however, it cannot guarantee the ultimate diagnosis of ADHD. We are here to support you throughout this process; there is absolutely no obligation or pressure to proceed with a full assessment after this consultation.

We currently accept self-referrals, as well as referrals from health professionals, for adult ADHD assessments.
